Logo Design for Vintage 61

Role: Graphic Design Studio
Client: Vintage 61
Projects: Logo Design

Local to Boise, Idaho, Vintage 61 is a new, woman owned, wine bar and kitchen that serves a unique list of boutique wines. Vintage 61 takes the time to individually pick their wines, so that they may offer each of their customers a special experience that can’t be found at any previous Boise restaurant. They offer a variety of boutique wines, and have a menu filled with delectable foods, including rib eye steak, charcuterie boards, steamed clams and sliders.

My client Rob, was helping his client, Vintage 61, with their branding. They needed a logo that helped draw attention to their specialty establishment for having a delectable menu and a sophisticated aura.

Sketching
We landed on a few initial sketches before refining the best fit mark. We tried having the “61” form a curved looking icon, that can stand on its own in given circumstances, which also forms a short wine glass feel. We also experimented with the “V” and “A” in “Vintage,” creating an angular and consistent feel within the word. Secondly, with a more classic and literal play off of the word “Vintage,” we tried a concept that used a more old fashion type style. And lastly, we tested a script, feminine, vintage wordmark.

Final Logo
The final logo has an upscale, modern feel with a country branded twist. The 61 is an abstract mark that could be seen as a branded symbol, a stemless wine glass or a grape vine, that subtly represents the delicious cuisine and fine wine offered on Vintage 61.
